Funky Bumz Reusable Nappy Systems Waste Management

At Funky Bumz, waste management is second nature, part of everyday life.
It's quite simple:

• Always consider other uses of anything
• If it can be used again, save it
• Think before you throw any thing out

Virtually all fabric off-cuts are reused, side cuts from nappies are made into reusable baby wipes, (which conveniently fit into disposable wipes refill containers) and given away as promotional gifts with nappy packs. Other scraps are saved and used as stuffing in Yoga bolsters, usually given as gifts to friends.

All paper waste is sorted into kids scrap paper (once used, put into recycling), note paper, or non-reusable and either recycled or composted.

• Any food scraps are fed to the worm farm.
• Any plastics, cardboard or metal waste is taken to the recycling station.
• All purchases are carefully considered for its waste, and environmental impact.
• All ink cartridges are refilled and once expired taken to a recycling point.
• Where possible energy saving methods are used, lighting and turning power off.

In the past two years of operation Funky Bumz has filled no more then three supermarket shopping bags for rubbish collection.
